Use this when the user asks how sales performance changed between two periods for a legacy entity or one configured customer/product field. For configured labels such as Territory Manager, Channel, Dealer Type, or Brand, first resolve the label with busy_get_dimension_catalog and pass its canonical key as the dimension object; never guess an OF position. It compares complete filtered populations, retains new and lost values, and returns values, change, dense-rank movement, contribution, and sales/return evidence. Omit comparison dates for the previous equivalent period. Use busy_sales_trend_summary for multiple chronological buckets.
