What you can ask

One question away from the whole ledger

Receivables, sales, stock, suppliers, the month-end picture — each area is backed by governed tools that read your real Busy vouchers. Ask in plain language; the assistant picks the right tool.

Capability areas highlight in turn. Select one to hold it.

How it works

From your Busy company file to an answer

Four steps, once. After that the sync runs on its own and every assistant you connect sees the same governed data.

  1. 01

    Install the sync app

It runs on the same Windows machine as Busy and reads your company data locally.

No database port to open, no cloud connector to configure

  2. 02

Your books land in a private warehouse

Voucher-level detail is synced and modelled, so totals reconcile with what Busy shows.

    Row-level security, isolated per organisation

  3. 03

Connect an assistant, or open BI

Authorise once through OAuth 2.1. ChatGPT, Claude and other MCP clients connect to the same endpoint.

Tokens are never pasted into a chat window

  4. 04

    Ask, report, schedule

A planner picks the narrowest tool for your question and answers from the governed catalog.

Every answer scoped to one company and financial year

Nothing writes back to Busy. 67 tools only read your data. The remaining two create private, downloadable register exports — they never change accounting records.

Why the number is right

It answers from your catalog, or it tells you why it cannot

Every term in a question is resolved against the metric and dimension catalogs for your company and financial year before anything is computed. When the source data a calculation needs is not there, the assistant says so instead of estimating.

Two example questions are checked against the metric and dimension catalogs. The first resolves and is answered from vouchers; the second stops because the cost data a margin needs is not present, and the assistant reports that instead of estimating.

Asked

Top 5 customers by net sales last quarter

  • Company and financial year validatedbusy_plan_accounting_query
  • “Net sales” resolved to its implemented formulabusy_get_metric_catalog
  • “Customer” is a supported dimensionbusy_get_dimension_catalog

Answered

Every term mapped to something real in your books, so the ranking is computed from vouchers — not estimated.

Asked

What is our gross margin by customer?

  • Company and financial year validatedbusy_plan_accounting_query
  • “Gross margin” found in the catalogbusy_get_metric_catalog
  • Cost source contract required for margin — not present for this yearbusy_get_profitability_readiness

Held back

The assistant says which source data is missing rather than filling the gap with an estimate. A plausible wrong margin is worse than no margin.

How we handle your data

Before you commit

The questions accountants actually ask first

Short answers, and the mechanism behind each one. If something here is not covered, ask us directly — we would rather answer it before you connect a company file than after.

Is my accounting data safe?

Your books sync into a warehouse that is isolated per organisation and protected by row-level security. Access through an assistant is read-only, and every answer is scoped to a single company and financial year.

Connecting an assistant is an OAuth 2.1 authorisation, so a token is never pasted into a chat window.

Can it change anything in Busy?

No. 67 of the 69 tools only read. The remaining 2 produce private, downloadable register exports — files you receive, not edits to your books.

There is no write path back into your company file at all.

Which AI assistants does it work with?

ChatGPT and Claude today, plus any other MCP-compatible client that supports bearer-header authentication. They all connect to the same endpoint and see the same governed tools.

What happens when it cannot answer something?

It tells you what is missing. Terms in a question are resolved against your metric and dimension catalogs first, so if the source data a calculation needs is not present for that company and year, the assistant reports that instead of producing a number.

A refusal you can act on is worth more than a confident guess you have to go and verify.

Does my team have to change how they use Busy?

No. The sync app runs on the same Windows machine as Busy and reads your company data locally — there is no database port to open and no cloud connector to configure. Your team keeps entering vouchers exactly as they do now.

Is Hindi supported?

Yes — this entire site ships in English and Hindi together, and more languages are planned.
